Studio Four’s Gorgeous Bespoke Textiles

The New York design studio produces customized upholstery, rugs, and wall coverings

For certain design enthusiasts, the ultimate luxuries are handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces that are rich in character. Those people are precisely the discerning types who to turn to the New York atelier Studio Four for bespoke upholstery, rugs, and wall coverings of the highest caliber.

Based in a showroom near Union Square that’s brimming with textiles from around the world, Studio Four offers a customized service to design-world clients, allowing them to work collaborate directly with the firm’s weaver, Soraya Shah, to dream up unique singular palettes and textures for any interior. Decorator Katie Ridder, who’s never shy about making bold and playful use of color, regularly uses Studio Four to create luxurious yet zippy headboards and upholstered box springs. “Nothing is better than working with local artisans,” she says. “I love being able to go down to the studio on Broadway and pick the exact thread color combinations I need for a project.”
