Galerie Celebrates Spring Issue with Margaret Russell

Art-world insiders and interior design experts enjoy an evening at the home of Lisa Cohen

Despite the snow-covered views of sledders in Central Park, it was a celebration of Spring at the home of Lisa Cohen, the founder and editorial director of Galerie, on Wednesday evening. A coterie of art-world insiders and interior design experts were on hand to fete the new Spring issue of Galerie and editor at large Margaret Russell. Recent New York School of Interior Design honorees David Kleinberg and Brian Sawyer flipped through the pages while designers Thomas O’Brien, Dan Fink, Madeline Stuart, William Georgis, and architect Lee F. Mindel mingled. Longtime friends jeweler Nina Runsdorf and fashion designer Stephanie von Wotzdorf were thrilled to have been featured in the new issue. Both were quick to thank photographer Joshua McHugh who shot portraits of each of them for their features.

Photographer Pieter Estersohn, who captured the beauty and scale of a Manhattan duplex by David Collins was also making the rounds. A trio of Starks (Steve, Chad, and Candice) congratulated James Cohen on the success of the latest issue. Glimpses of the warmer weather ahead were reflected in the décor’s lavender roses and stacks of magazine’s with a cover featuring the sunny Moroccan home of decorator Frédéric Méchiche, along with seasonally-inspired hors d’oeuvres from Plated Chefs. All in all, the night was a warm and lovely affair that kept everyone’s minds off the lingering effects of the blizzard.
