VIDEO: Highlights from the Armory Show 2019

We talk to some of the world’s leading gallerists and curators about the 25th anniversary edition of the fair

The 2019 edition of the storied fair brought together 197 galleries hailing from 33 countries, including several that were participating for the first time. This year also marked the 25th anniversary of the fair, which began in 1994 as a scrappy affair with a group of now established dealers like Matthew Marks and Tanya Bonakdar selling works in the rooms of the Gramercy Park Hotel. Here, Galerie‘s editors caught up with executive director of the Armory, Nicole Berry; artistic director of Serpentine Galleries, Hans Ulrich Obrist; dealers Richard Taittinger, Mariane Ibrahim, and Kathy Huang; and architect Kulapat Yantrasast of wHY on the opening day.
