Frieze Art Fair is underway once again on Randall’s Island. This year, the fair, which is on view through Sunday, May 5. has several special sections including one devoted to the pioneering New York gallery Just Above Midtown curated by Franklin Sirmans, the director of Pérez Art Museum Miami. The edition also features Dialogos, a Latinx and Latin American thematic section, with presentations by 13 noteworthy artists such as Firelei Báez, Luis Flores, and Ana Mendieta. There’s also a presentation of outsider art curated by Javier Tellez and organized in collaboration with the Outsider Art Fair. Here, we talk to Frieze Fairs director  Victoria Siddall, along with Franklin Sirmans, Andrew Edlin, owner of the Outsider Art Fair, and Veronica Levitt, director at Casey Kaplan gallery, to find out what makes this year’s Frieze Art Fair so special.
