VIDEO: Creative Mind Niamh Barry Talks About Her Stunning New Lighting Creations

The Irish designer speaks with Galerie editor in chief, Jacqueline Terrebonne, about her unique creative process

Fore more than three decades, Irish designer Niamh Barry has been conjuring gravity-defying light sculptures that re-create the warm, golden glow of fire. Now Barry, who was named one of Galerie’s 2021 Creative Minds, is unveiling a new series of fixtures at Maison Gerard that represent an evolution of her earlier works, among them Vessel Scape, a 30-foot-long work inspired by a Bronze-age artifact called the Broighter boat, made for the Central Bank of Ireland, and Underneath that debuted at an exhibition in Milan. Here, Barry talks with editor in chief, Jacqueline Terrebonne, about her unique creative process.
