The San Francisco designer conjures an Italian-inspired primary suite with an architectural edge

“We didn’t want your standard beachy, Hamptons bedroom,” says San Francisco designer Geoffrey De Sousa. So much is abundantly clear at the Galerie House of Art and Design, where De Sousa crafted a dreamy bedroom created for a fictional architecture graduate who had just returned from Europe. “We wanted this room to be something that gave tribute to architecture and Italian history.”

To that end, the designer deployed bold jewel tones and tapped decorative painter Abby Manouk to create an architectural mural on the walls. The show-stopping fiberglass bed is by Jordan Mozer and is dressed in Eastern Accents linens. A vintage table by Aldo Tura, Fort Street Studio rug, Fornasetti mirror, de la Cuona textiles, lamps by Circa Lighting, and a Milo Baughman etagère join a thoughtful curation of art from Nara Roesler gallery, including pieces by Alexandre Arrechea, Marco Maggi, and Vik Muniz.

Watch De Sousa give a tour of the space below.
